Deivid Marins is a Senior Electrical Engineer with over 12 years of specialized experience in the design, optimization, and execution of Overhead Transmission Lines (OHL) and Medium Voltage (MV) networks for onshore wind and renewable energy assets. His expertise spans the entire lifecycle of Balance of Plant (BoP) electrical infrastructure, from preliminary route modeling and sag-tension calculations to due diligence, owner's engineering, and site commissioning. Operating primarily across Latin American and African markets, he is highly proficient in utilizing PLS-CADD to ensure rigorous compliance with international grid standards, including CIGRÉ, IEEE, IEC, and EN 50341.
In addition to greenfield grid connection design, Marins provides advanced engineering support for grid optimization, operational maintenance, and asset capacity uprating. He actively leads technical investigations for unplanned outages and has developed comprehensive predictive maintenance routines, successfully integrating drone-based field inspections. His technical portfolio includes complex insulation coordination, grounding system design, electromagnetic field (EMF) mitigation, and high-temperature low-sag (HTLS) conductor retrofitting for transmission systems up to 500 kV.
Holding a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on wind energy transmission capacity, Marins combines practical field supervision with academic rigor. He is a recognized industry contributor, having participated in CIGRÉ working groups and serving as a guest lecturer for onshore and offshore wind farm design. His ability to lead geographically dispersed engineering teams and manage complex, cross-border electrical project deliveries makes him a critical asset for utility-scale wind energy developments.
